Suminagashi or "floating ink" is the process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colourful. It originated in Japan around 12th century. The cotton fabric used for this kurta set has been dyed using the suminagashi process.
This kurta set is detailed with resham scalloping on the neck and sleeves and adorned with silk thread fringes on the ghera. The chiffon dupatta is leheriya dyed in terrarium moss green and ivory and is embellished with a Rajput painting, an art form that evolved and flourished in the era of the Rajputana.
